Intervening in the presidential election on the heels of the successful 2023 Stand Up Strike, UAW leveraged President Shawn Fain's invitation to the Democratic National Convention as a moment for political education.
On short notice, we designed and printed a "Trump is a scab" shirt following Hulk Hogan's earlier shirt reveal at the Republican Convention. The moment captured headlines and injected the word scab into public discourse. We sold thousands of shirts to fund our electoral efforts and continued public education around the election.
