In 2024, union organizer Claire Valdez launched her first bid for state legislature. It was a campaign that hit close to home: Claire was a fellow UAW member running to represent my corner of Queens amid growing calls for our assembly member to resign following a sexual misconduct scandal.
I was brought on to design a brand identity for Claire’s team that felt visually grounded in the labor movement — a fundamental piece of her story, campaign message, and orientation to organizing she planned on bringing to Albany.
In 2025, after being sworn in, I was hired by her district office to create an identity system that was both simple and flexible enough for her staff to use while bringing a slightly more official tone to the existing campaign design.
